The disruption forced party members to flee the premises in panic, abruptly bringing the meeting to an end.

Some party leaders were said to have sustained injuries during the chaos, including the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin.

The incident occurred at the APC secretariat in Akure, where party leaders and officials had gathered for what was described as a routine stakeholders’ meeting.

Eyewitnesses said a group of young men, allegedly armed with sticks, machetes and other crude weapons, suddenly invaded the venue, shouting and issuing threats at participants.

It was gathered that Engr. Adetimehin, who was presiding over the meeting at the time, was reportedly assaulted in the melee, while other executives narrowly escaped harm.

Following the incident, Adetimehin accused the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, of allegedly sponsoring political thugs to attack him and other party leaders, an allegation yet to be officially responded to by the governor.

As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of the attack remained unclear.

Efforts to reach party officials for further comments proved abortive, as calls to their phones were not answered.
