NDC convention: NigeriaFIRST Foundation applauds party’s unity, declares non-partisan commitment to democracy

The NigeriaFIRST Foundation has congratulated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the occasion of its National Convention.
It commended the party for what it described as unity, magnanimity and political maturity in convening stakeholders for sustainable development and democratic consolidation.
In a statement issued on May 9, and signed by the Foundations Honorable Speaker, Comr. Vic- Morrow Ulo, the Foundation celebrated the leadership of its National Woman Leader, Hajiya Nike Abdulrahman who was elected the North Central Zonal Woman Leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress NDC at the party convention over the weekend, Morrow described her as a symbol of service, inclusion and national unity whose role reflects the calibre of members within Nigeria’s political space.
The group stressed that its presence at the convention reaffirmed its cross-party approach to governance, noting that it engages with all Independent National Electoral Commission-registered political parties in pursuit of a stronger and more inclusive Nigeria.
It emphasised that it is not aligned with any single political party, stating that its mandate is to promote dialogue, accountability and national cohesion across the political spectrum.
The Foundation also reiterated its commitment to the 35 per cent affirmative action drive for women in governance, describing inclusive leadership as critical to sustainable development and national progress.
It pledged to continue advocating and partnering across party lines to ensure greater female representation in the country’s democratic system.
Reaffirming support for its members in public service, the organisation said it would continue to encourage them to uphold integrity, service and national interest wherever they are positioned within the political system.
The Foundation expressed solidarity with key NDC leaders, including its National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson; National Chairman, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe; former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi; former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso; National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu; and National Chieftain, Amanda Pam, as well as all delegates at the convention.
It added that it stands firmly behind Abdulrahman and all initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive governance, democratic values and the collective good of Nigerians.
