The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced that Nigerians can now download their National Identification Number (NIN) slip free of charge through the NINAuth mobile application.

The commission disclosed this in a statement shared on its official X account on Thursday, saying the latest version of the NINAuth app now enables users to download their NIN slips at no cost.
According to NIMC, the updated application also comes with enhanced privacy protections, stronger security features and access to a wider range of integrated government services.
The commission urged Nigerians who already have the NINAuth app installed on their devices to update it immediately to enjoy the new features.
It also advised those who have not yet installed the application to download it from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
NIMC said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to make digital identity services more accessible, secure and convenient for Nigerians.
The commission noted that the new feature eliminates the need for NIN holders to visit agents or registration centres, queue for service, or pay third parties to obtain a copy of their NIN slip.
