The Lawmaker Representing Nembe Constituency Two,Hon Irigha Brigidi and Hon Sunday Bernard Kenebai,the Lawmaker Representing Sagbama Constituency Two both in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has bid farewell to Pa Abraham Joseph Michael (AJM) Diri, father of the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
Speaking to newsmen at the sideline after a Thanksgiving service in honour of Pa Abraham Joseph Michael at Sampou Community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Sunday,Hon Irigha Brigidi described the governor’s father as an exemplary teacher, a Lay Reader and community leader, who gave his children proper upbringing.
According to him, “we are here to celebrate the life and times of Pa Diri. The array of personalities here is an indication that Pa Diri brought up and nurtured the aspirations of so many children.”
Brigidi,who is a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) advised people to emulate the lifestyle of the governor who doesn’t play politics of bitterness,noting that’s why politicians across party lines came to grace the service.
He said”Everybody should leave this same way of life so that if anything happens to you it will come the same way.Well am an APC strong man but this one is more than politics,this is not a party matter,we need peace in the state you can even see the vice president is here,because of the life of the governor that’s why am here.
Also speaking is the Sagbama Constituency Two Lawmaker,Hon Sunday Bernard Kenebai who said that the caliber of dignitaries present is a manifestation of God’s favor and goodness on Pa Abraham Joseph Micheal and the governor Senator Douye Diri
“So far what has happened is God’s grace to witness a man who has given service and to humanity, because he has actually in still so much virtues in his children,today we are witnessing a son of his as a governor of this state and so much goodwill and God’s favor manifesting in all the activities that has taken place so far”
Kenebai, who’s also the Deputy Leader of the house stated that because of the governor’s peaceful disposition,God’s grace,humility,sense of service and his love for one another has made the governor to deliver on his campaign promises.
