A 45-year-old man, Bankole Oginni, who claims to be a football coach, has allegedly killed his lover of the same age in his room at Oke-Aro, Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Oginni, who was arrested by men of Nigerian Police Force, B-Division, Oke-Aro Akure after the victim was found in his room, was said to have called the victim from her house for a visit before her line became unreachable.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, in a statement said a lady reported at the station that her mother, who was Oginni’s ex-lover was invited over to his place at Oke-Aro area of Akure.
“After she left for his house, she did not return and her phone was switched off. She traced her mother to the house, only to find her lifeless body on the room(sic) of the ex-lover, her legs and hands tied and her body opened with intestines removed.
“Also there were patches on her body that shows sign of hot water burns.”
Odunlami-Omisanya said the suspect is in custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
