Residents Of Yenagoa Defies Heavy Downpour To Celebrate Diri.
–He Deserves To Be Celebrated, Says Ambrose Kwokor
Following the declaration of Diri as winner of the election,there was celebration around Yenagoa,as his supporters and PDP members defied the heavy downpour to express their joy over the outcome of the poll, albeit, peacefully.
The crowd of supporters soon dispersed to Government House and homes of party chieftains to continue the celebration.
Security in town was tight,as policemen and others patrolled major roads and streets to forstall any breakdown of law and order.
Speaking to our Correspondent in Yenagoa,after the declaration of Douye Diri,a PDP chieftain Hon.Ambrose Kwokor, commended INEC and security agencies for not subverting the wish of the people.he adjudged the entire process has free, fair and peaceful.
He equally thanked Bayelsians for believing on the leadership style of the governor,which he said made them to vote for him massively, while assuring them that the governor who he knows very well will not disappoint Bayelsians and will consolidate on his track records.
Kwokor,who was very elated on the outcome of the election, said the victory is not only for the governor but for all Bayelsians who aspire for a better Bayelsa, henced the need for the wide spread celebration .
According to him,the numerous achievements of the governor for three years and some months now couple with his love for Bayelsians were amongst other things that spoke for the governor on the day of the election .
His voice ” Recent election that took place was peaceful,free and fair. I thank INEC and security agencies for taking control of the election.The governor has proved himself that he’s a governor for all and its a father to Bayelsians of which he’s going to attend to all the needs of Bayelsians.
For three years plus he has proved to Bayelsians that he can do so much if given a second chance but today we are celebrating, Bayelsians has also proven to him that he can continue with his second tenure and just to show that we Bayelsians appreciate him for his past records and he will also do well in his second tenure in terms of Development,infrastructure whatever thing we need he’s ready to do it.
“I am very happy for him because of his leadership style and it’s a father to all, unlike what we use to experience before were love does no exist but in his case love is paramount, I am happy as you can hear the sound from the background I am in my residents at Okaka I am celebrating with my people,you can see the crowd celebrating with me,so let him continue and do more.
The PDP chieftain further thanked president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for being a father to all irrespective of the party ,allowing a free,fair,credible polls and for not using federal might to intimidate the people.
He called on opposition parties to accept the outcome of the election and join in celebrating the victory of the governor for the peace and progress of the state,while also calling on Bayelsians to be calm .
“I want to say a very big thank you to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for showing concern for the people of Bayelsa State and for not looking at the party but the wish of the people.I want to equally ask the opposition to support Douye Diri because it’s a winner for all whether you’re APC,PDP, LP or any other party should embrace this celebration.Douye Diri I Know because have worked with him he’s not a partisan politician he works with everybody so I want everybody to come together so we can move Bayelsa forward”He said.
