A lot of the nation’s resources are being channelled into fighting this monster.

The Nigerian government, on various occasions, had called on the citizens to rally support for the various security agencies by giving information whenever any suspicious move is noticed, for quick response, to avert the ills that would have been perpetrated by the men of the underworld; a development that has left many patroitic Nigerians to view and accept the fact that, the security of lives and property is a collective responsibility that must not be left in the hands of the government alone, if we must have a secured nation.

It was in recognition of the plea and call by the government that some patroitic and spirited individuals and organisations have deemed it fit to synergise with the government to enable her surmount this challenge that has lingered on for over a decade without any solution in sight.

One of such patroitic and spirited Nigerians is Mrs Gift Blessed Ugwu, a Diplomat with the United Nations Certification, who is the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, ABG Prostasia, a newly incorporated private security firm.

Ugwu is an enterprising entrepreneur whose bussiness experience and exploits cut across real estate/mortgage properties (Realtor) with the Federal Mortgage Bank.

She is a renowned philanthropist who has calved a niche for herself in the humanitarian world through her foundation -Teleoites Interbiz, and has reached out to many orphana, widows and the vulnerable in the society.

As a security expert with the prerequisites knowledge and skills, having obtained a degree in Criminology and Security Studies and a masters in view from the National Open University, coupled with her patroitic zeal and passion for a secured Nigeria, Ugwu dreamed of a nation where all citizens can go about their businesses without fear.

Speaking with our correspondence recently, Ugwu said ABG Prostasia has come to change the narratives of the security situation in the country, adding that the security firm is ready to deploy technology for effective policing of the country.

According to her, effective policing in the 21st Century has to be technologically driven, which involves the use of forensic devices to detect certain crimes and the use of some special security gadgets to monitor activities of people in areas that are prone to crime.

The ABG Prostasia CEO faulted the obsolete method used by the nation’s police personnel to detect criminals, a situation in which mass arrest are effected in some cases to detect a culprit, where forensic devices could have been deployed to unravel the culprit.

“The methods use by the nation’s police to detect crimes are obsolete, unreliable, unrealistic and counterproductive,” she lamented.

Ugwu stated that experience has shown that in most cases the actual culprit must have asconded before such mass arrest, and that the real culprit might not even be detected at all.

According to her, ABG Prostasia is a security outfit that would have its branch offices in all the states of the federation, and technology also massively deployed to ensure crime prevention and detection in all the nooks and crannies of the country.

In her words: “We are committed towards reducing crime to the bearest minimum,we wants to assist the government in preventing and unravelling crime, so that Nigerians can sleep with their two eyes closed.

I know it involves huge financial resources, but we are committed to achieving it.”

Lastly, Ugwu further pointed out that the firm was already working round the clock to get permit from the federal government for the purchase of necessary and required security gadgets for it operations which will kickstart fully in no distance time.
