The alumni Association Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, RUGIPO, Owo, Abuja chapter has made a passionate appeal to the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Ojo, to among other supports ensure the employment of about 70 members of the association in whatever capacity.

Chairman of the alumni, Abuja chapter, Otunba Abubakar Adesina stated this during his opening address at End of year get together held inside the Aso Hall of International Conference Center, FCT, Abuja.

The chairman used the occasion to reel out the Alumni’s achievements in over 12 years of existence, which include plans toward the Abuja Estate initiative, the planned alumni micro finance bank, currently awaiting CBN approval, employment opportunity for members among others.

He said the Abuja chapter just commissioned a N5 million alumni building at the Rufus Giwa Polytechic in Owo.

He thanked those who contributed meaningfully to the alma matter and acknowledged the presence of personalities who graced the event.

He also gave kudos to the executive members of the association and others fir always supporting the alma matter to get things done.

Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Alaba Metubo said, as one of the pioneer students of Ondo State Polytechnic , now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in 1979, he witnessed the giant strides of the institution and its graduates.

He thanked the alumni members for their achievements so far, while corroborating the Minister’s suggestions for the group to move further by embarking on projects that could positively impact the alumni members and the institution directly, including establishment of micro-finance bank and building lecturer quarters at the polytechnic.

On his part, he encouraged members to go into farming, bakery and other ventures.
Dignitaries who attended the event include the national executives of the alumni, house of representatives members from Akoko, Chairman Akoko South local government, High Chief Olaniyi Alaba Batubo, among others.
