In a display of gratitude and solidarity, the newly appointed Deputy Governor designate, Dr. Olayide Adelami, and Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tayo Oluwatuyi, and well wishers mobilized a heartfelt welcome for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa upon his return to the state capital from Abuja.
The atmosphere at the airport was one of anticipation and excitement as citizens gathered to greet the returning governor. Dr. Adelami and Oluwatuyi led the appreciation rally, symbolizing a seamless transition and unity within the state’s leadership
Aiyedatiwa expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him upon his return to the state capital, organized as a thank-you rally by the new Deputy Governor designate and the SSG.
Aiyedatiwa, visibly moved by the warm reception, addressed the jubilant crowd, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude. “I want to thank the Deputy Governor designate Dr. Adelami for the warm welcome and for his unwavering support,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated, meeting Adelami for the first time after his appointment, formally introduced Dr. Adelami to the citizens. “Two days ago, we dissolved the former executive council, not in discord but as part of the necessary transition. I presented the name of Dr. Olayide Adelami to the House of Assembly for consideration, and it was approved.”
“The time for a deputy governor has come, because the responsibilities have been immense, and I am grateful for the capable hands of Dr. Adelami and the prompt action of the SSG Honorable Oluwatuyi, who has already begun his duties.”
Speaking further, the governor said “Your announcement of office was met with immense joy by the people of Ondo State, especially those in Owo your hometown, and that of my predecessor. The traditional rulers from Owo contacted me to express their gratitude, highlighting the deep affection and support you enjoy from your hometown. Traditional rulers, being close to the grassroots, reflecting the sentiments of the people, expressed such joy, indicating strong local support.
Similarly, the people of Akure, the hometown of the SSG, are celebrating widely, underscoring the desire for your success and the depth of their affection for you”
Concluding while addressing newsmen at the presidential lounge, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa further lauded the efforts of the Deputy Governor designate and the new SSG for mobilizing citizens to organize the rally, marking a significant gesture of gratitude for their recent appointments.
“I am deeply moved by the outpouring of support and the warm welcome orchestrated by Deputy Governor designate and the SSG,” Governor Aiyedatiwa remarked.
“Their initiative to express appreciation through this rally speaks volumes about their dedication to serving the people and fostering unity within the state.”
Aiyedatiwa thanked the deputy governor and SSG for their warm welcome and invited everyone to attend the burial of the late Governor Akeredolu.
