The occasion was hosted by the esteemed Nigerian writer, Madam Abeni, who is a respected member of the Association of Nigerian Authors. The event itself was noteworthy, drawing a diverse array of dignitaries from the worlds of culture, literature, and entrepreneurship.

Among the distinguished guests were the Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Herald International Magazine, Alhaji Lai Gidado, Blessing Eno AbdulRahaman, representing the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Arts & Culture, and Hajia Lawal Maimunat, who represented the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Others include; Madam Yinka Ogunsola of His Glory Innovations, a popular fashion outfit in Abuja, Mrs Nnena Emedolibe, representing the President, National Council of Women Societies, and Alhaja Mulikat Olasupo of the Educational Resource Centre.

These and many other distinguished guests graced the occasion with their presence, underscoring the significance of the event in promoting Nigerian culture and heritage.

The highlight of the ceremony was the cutting of the tape, performed by Mr Rolland Baddo, Representative of the Ghanaian Embassy in Nigeria, symbolising the unity and shared cultural heritage of West Africa.

This gesture emphasised the importance of promoting African attires and textiles beyond borders.

The essence of this remarkable achievement is to revive and promote Nigerian pride in African attires, particularly the rich cultural heritage of Aso-Oke. Madam Abeni’s initiative aims to:

– Preserve the traditional Nigerian textile industry
– Empower local artisans and designers
– Showcase the beauty and elegance of Aso-Oke to the world
– Provide a platform for cultural exchange and education
