The Adamawa Progressive Elders Council has congratulated Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his election as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
The group described the development as a milestone for the party and its members across Nigeria.
In a press statement issued on March 30, 2026, and signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Ahmad I. Sajoh, the council, led by Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), said Yilwatda’s emergence reflected his leadership qualities, dedication and the confidence reposed in him by party stakeholders.
The council noted that the election of the new chairman came at a critical moment in the nation’s history, adding that his appointment symbolised the APC’s commitment to inclusivity and progress.
Marwa said the council was proud to see a leader with “acknowledged progressive credentials” assume the role, describing his emergence as a victory for Nigerians and the progressive family.
He expressed confidence in Yilwatda’s capacity to lead the party to greater heights and contribute to national development.
The group also pledged its full support and prayers for the new chairman as he steers the APC.
The group, however, urged party members and Nigerians to rally behind him in pursuit of the party’s goals and the betterment of society.
