The Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC,commences the distribution of electoral materials as early as possible in Zarama Constituency 3, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Zarama which comprises of 12 units, in ward 15 was peaceful as at the time of filling this report,INEC officials was seen moving to their various units.
Speaking to Newsmen while on the spot assessment at Zarama,The Commissioner For Education in Bayelsa State,Hon.Gentle Emelah,said Zarama has been a peaceful community that have never had issue of electoral violence,he called on electorates to be peaceful.
He commended security personnel for ensuring peace and tranquility in course of the exercise,Emelah also commended the people of Zarama for maintaining peace and other.
Emelah, who’s confidence on the victory of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,maintained that the All Progressive Congress, APC,has no structure in Zarama.
“For me for this particular election security wise i think is going to be peaceful and we don’t have issue even if is not there responsibility, the military are on ground, Incase there’s a break down of law and order,thier presence have been able to speak volume everywhere is calm and they are going about their lawful duties .
“We have been peaceful this is a peaceful community ,we are not known for election violent,the presence of the security will not scare them but rather it will strengthen them”He said.,
