C’tee To Investigate Students’ Riot In Jega Begins Sitting

The 8-man Investigation Committee set up by the Kebbi State government to unravel the causes of the students riot at College of Health Sciences, Jega will begin sitting today.
A member of the committee and commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, disclosed this in a statement.
“The committee will invite and interface with all stakeholders including students, teachers , school management, security personnel and every other person connected with the matter,” he said.
He assured that the committee will go the extra mile to unravel the causes of the riot, uncover the circumstances leading to it, investigate roles played each stakeholder, apportion blame where it is established and recommend measures to be taken to avert future occurrence.
According to the commissioner, the committee will nor spare anyone involved no matter how remotely connected and no matter how highly placed.
Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK warned that the state government will not tolerate dereliction of duty, indiscipline and any act that has the potential to set the state backward.
He said members would be firm and uncompromising on the side of truth, just and fair in the discharge of their terms of reference.
The committee which has two weeks to conclude its assignment is chaired by the Commissioner of Environment Alhaji Mohammed Musa Tungulawa
