DG. RMRDC TO CHAIR 2024 EBONY HERALD ANNUAL LECTURE
The Director-General of Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonso will chair the auspicious yearly Ebony Herald Annual lecture, holding on September 19, 2024, at the Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The decision of the Editorial team of Ebony Herald International Magazine to have DG of Raw Materials Research and Development Council, as Chairman of the occasion is apt for the theme: “Restoring Agriculture’s Lost Glory: Panacea To Hunger in Nigeria,” and the present hardship Nigeria is faced with, as the DG, in recent reports, has taken important steps that will aid the supply of high quality agricultural products to farmers, as a way of contributing to the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure food security in Nigeria.
Going by these reports, these steps will enable farmers have access to available raw materials in their particular localities, which would, in a large sense, improve the effectiveness of the agricultural sector to reduce hunger to the barest minimum in the nation.
The Editor-in Chief of Ebony Herald International Magazine, publisher of ebony herald online news and Ebony Herald Monthly Magazine, Alhaji Lai Gidado, noted the importance of the council to achieving a hunger free Nigeria, as he paid a courtesy visit on the DG in company of his editor, Shalom Oludele and another member of his editorial team, Usman Adamu.
It was an interactive session at the board room of the council, as the Director General/CEO of RMRDC, Prof. Nnanyelugo M. Ike-Muonso, in the company of a team made up of director, Agriculture, Dr. Sab Ebiriekwe; Director, Corporate Affairs Services, Engr. Chuks Ngaha; Technical Adviser to the DG, Dr. Ebire Westham, and others, received the Ebony Herald Team.
During the brief but detailed interactive session that followed the visit, both parties arrived at some key arrangements that would be mutually beneficial especially as it concerns enhanced projection of the council’s activities to the general public.
While expressing his gratitude to Ebony Herald for the visit and its choice of him as the chairman for the upcoming event, the Director General/CEO of RMRDC mentioned that the council is entering into important partnerships and consulting necessary stakeholders to improve agriculture states in the country.
The visit ended on a note of camaraderie and conviviality, with the publisher of the Ebony Herald presenting some books and copies of the past edition of the magazine to Prof. Ike-Muonso.
