Drama as ADC aborigine Elects Dumebi Kachikwu as Presidential Candidate for 2027 General Elections, another ADC presidential primary ongoing across the nation
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally elected Dumebi Kachikwu as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during a special national convention and presidential primary held in Abuja on Sunday, where delegates gathered to select the party’s flag bearer and deliberate on the party’s direction ahead of next year’s polls.
Kachikwu, who previously contested the presidency under the ADC banner in 2023, accepted the nomination after being presented with the party flag by the newly elected National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Bashir.
“I accept your nomination to be the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress,” Kachikwu declared, thanking party faithfuls and leadership. He emphasized unity, stating the party’s vision would cut across “tribe, tongue and
The convention, described by organizers as a success, focused on strengthening the party’s structures, grassroots mobilization, and positioning the ADC as a credible alternative in the 2027 race.
Further announcements on the vice-presidential running mate, campaign strategy, and other key positions are expected in the coming days.
Meanwhile Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday participated in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election taking place across the country.
Amaechi voted at Ward 5 in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, alongside party members and supporters.
Atiku also cast his vote earlier in the day at Ajiya Ward in Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State, as the ADC conducted its nationwide direct primary to select its candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
