According to Founder of the Magazine, Alhaji Lai Gidado, it was founded in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, in 2009, with the aim of connecting Nigerians abroad with their homeland by covering a wide range of topics such as events, fashion, sports, and interviews.

He hinted, that the inaugural issue featured Nigerians in London and Ireland, with highlights of birthdays, naming ceremonies, and interviews with notable personalities, including Miss K, Tinu Itswel Odunuga, and Theodora Ibekwe from the UK, among others.

“In Nigeria, the magazine gained recognition for its coverage of the political situation surrounding the push for then-Vice President Goodluck Jonathan to be sworn in as Acting President. It also reviewed the upcoming general elections and profiled several aspirants.

“Since then, Ebony Herald has expanded its reach, launching its first Nigerian edition in 2011, ahead of the general elections. In 2010, it ventured into online reportage, which has faced challenges but continues to grow steadily.

The publisher, while reflecting on the magazine’s journey, expressed gratitude to key contributors and supporters who played crucial roles in the early years of the publication.

Notable mentions include; Mr. Ajibade Adewumi, Yinka Dixon Oludaiye, Bankole Afe, and others. In Nigeria, individuals such as Samson Adigun, Chief Temitayo Adewole, and Femi Falana were acknowledged for their professional contributions.

Meanwhile, in a leadership transition, the founder announced his stepping down from several critical roles within the organisation, appointing Mrs. Shalom Oludele as the new CEO and Editor-in-Chief.

As the publication looks to the future, the management called on the business community to place advertisements in Ebony Herald International Magazine, Abuja Herald newspaper, and their online platforms; @https//:ebonyheraldnewsonline.com.ng . https//:abujaherald.com.ng for a wider reach.

The magazine remains committed to serving its readers with quality content, staying true to its mission of connecting the Nigerian diaspora with home.
