There needs to be a bridge built, and there should be notable success stories for farmers to hear about, as they are now facing numerous challenges and are distanced from policymakers.

The bankers in the banking industry are amused by the high rate at which people are moving into land cultivation, with both men and women involved in farming and facilitating agricultural products.
Some farmers are even making enormous sums of money, grinning, and returning home with a lot of money, without thinking of savings, investing, and exporting these products to other countries.
Agricultural work is good; it expertly stimulates and develops, resulting in a great degree of satisfaction. One of the driving forces behind Nigerians entering the field of agriculture may be the high cost of agricultural products at all levels and the nation, as well as the problems with insecurity that farmers face.
These factors must be addressed at all times, and the sooner they are, the better. Even if you can choose land for crop and livestock production, you must also consider what kind of atmosphere is favorable to secure various markets and endure all multifaceted problems facing agricultural practices.
The government should ensure that all levels of farmers are engaged and physically capable of producing the necessary results. This will lower the price of food, making it affordable for the average Nigerian, and will help secure the farms. Planning and addressing these issues will better cater to the needs of the country.
Government should develop a new Livestock breeding policy
A new livestock breeding policy should allow the selection and multiplication of different indigenous beef breeds. The fundamental goal of the new breeding strategy is to encourage dairy breeding production, ranching, and the development of grazing areas to improve native breeds by utilizing exotic breeds such as Jersey and Holstein Friesians.
Efforts should be undertaken to establish foundation stocks of poultry and pigs in Nigeria, despite the fact that these sectors currently rely on exotic varieties.
Government has to develop the Livestock sector and help Livestock farmers
The government needs to develop the livestock sector with worldwide encouragement. This will encourage livestock farming, trading and investment, provide necessary agricultural services, and attract foreign investors.
Regular engagement with livestock farmers, the provision of necessary inputs and agricultural consumables such as water, veterinary medications, vaccines, animal feed, extension services, and pest and disease control services are crucial.
The current Government’s Economic Concerns
Time is not on the government’s side to address economic woes. The populace is crying day and night, expecting a messiah and wanting the government to proffer solutions to the economy as early as possible. Public engagement will pave the way for easily understanding and finding the root causes of economic issues.
Regular Presidential chats should be encouraged to foster positive relationships with the public. These relationships reduce the likelihood of various mishaps, worries, and anxieties, and encourage public support and understanding of government initiatives.
The present government must have regular conversations to educate people about ongoing efforts, current trends, and stages of economic policies. High-level meetings with different segments of society to discuss and receive inputs are essential.
The government should redouble its efforts to roll out social welfare plans, foster peace, attract foreign investors, and address corruption, security challenges, food scarcity, and poor delivery of goods and services. These efforts will improve Nigeria’s standing in the international community.
