Engr. Jokori Takes Helm at NSE Yenagoa, Unveils Vision for Engineering Excellence. By Chris MarkĀ 

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Yenagoa Branch has inaugurated Engr. Eluanatein Jokori as the 13th Chairman and its executive committee.

The body of engineers also perform the groundbreaking ceremony of the NSE Yenagoa Engineering Resource Centre in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capitol.

Speaking as Chairman of the Occasion, the President of the NSE, Engr. Alimasuya Rabiu commended the Yenagoa Branch of NSE for the foresight in establishing an Engineering Resource Centre.

Rabiu who described the centre as a global initiative highlighting the importance to include impacting knowledge and excellence as well as foster growth and innovation and called on government, development partners and well meaning Nigerians to donate generously towards the realization of this laudable project

He expressed the hope that Engr. Jokori’s leadership, vision and wealth of experience will drive meaningful progress, strengthen professional standards and foster innovation as well as contribute to the development of engineering practice in Bayelsa and beyond

He charged the Chairman and the executive committee to work as a term to promote excellence and uphold ethics, urging them to justify the confidence members reposed in them.

In his inaugural address, the 13th Chairman of NSE, Engr. Eluanatein Jokori said his leadership will focus on continuous professional development, skills upgrade, knowledge, research, development and innovation, adding that engineering resource centre will serve as hub for innovation geared towards guiding future engineers to attain excellence.

Jokori pledged to work tirelessly with the executive committee to build a vibrant, impactful Branch with renewed purpose poised to promote excellence and uphold professional ethics.

He emphasized that his leadership will work assiduously to leave an enduring legacy for future generations.

The Guest Speaker at the event, Mr. Azibola Robert, Founder of Zeetin Engineering while speaking on the theme: “Everything From Everything” posited that in order to survive against intruders who want to kill and annex lands, people fought war that gave birth to scientific discoveries and engineering.

Robert asserted the research findings revealed that those people which! are highly developed are those which are warlike in ancient times, adding that in a bid to conquer their enemies people started discovering weapons with mental, irons and other war instruments

He said those who discovered these weapons of wars are not engineers but later engineers stepped in to standardize everything so ” Everything is from Everything”.
