Horror in Ekiti 3 persons killed in separate incidents within 12 hours.

Unknown gunmen have unleashed mayhem in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital as three persons were killed on Thursday, the 20th June, 2024.

First was a POS operator who was robbed and killed around the State Specialist Hospital, Ado Ekiti in the morning.

Later in the afternoon, news filtered in that a roadside rice hawker was killed by gunmen.

Investigation however revealed that it was most likely to be a case of death by error as the assailants had already robbed their victim before killing the rice seller.

Witnesses around the scene claimed that the rice hawker, who appeared to be a native of one of the Northern states, wanted to intervene when the robbers arrived and might have been killed as reprisal.

Just as Ado Ekiti residents were still trying to digest the incidents, another report came that a POS operator around Idemo area of the state capital was also killed in the evening of the same day.

Circumstances surrounding the third killing in a day were sketchy, but no doubt, it threw residents into panick.

As at 6pm, many shop owners and POS operators had closed for the fear of the unknown, with no assurance of opening for business the next day
