I have just received in the mail my first Christmas Greeting Card ever from any Nigerian Consul General based in New York.

The Nigerian Community in New York in particular and other States covered by the Nigerian Consulate of New York are blessed and lucky to have an Ambassador and Consul General as bright and as competent and resourceful and empathetic as Lot Egopija.

I know I am not the only to get this kind of acknowledgement from my own country’s Ambassador but I want to be among the first to praise the development to High Heavens.

The Consulate has made significant progress and changes under the leadership of Lot Egopija as Consul General of Nigeria based in the financial and the entertainment Capital of the World

The issue and renewal of Passport to Nigerians and the issue of Visas to foreigners or Investors and Business men or women have become much easier and much faster to navigate under his leadership.

I can say that with pride and satisfaction because I have been a beneficiary of his leadership at the Consulate

My grandson, a Computer wiz nearly lost his admission to an Ivy League University in Connecticut because his passport had taken several months to get renewed by the Consulate.

I lodged a complaint soon after Lot Egopija’s posting to the Consulate.

He not only got the problem solved expeditiously, he initiated a scheme to tidy up things and to immediately change the Espirit de Corps of the largest and the busiest Nigerian Consulate in the United States.

I am crowing about Egopija’s accomplishments with this comment because I consider myself as a whistleblower and a retired Public Servant in good standing who wants Nigeria to stay one country but who also believes that if Nigeria does not kill or minimize Bribery and Corruption, indolence and sloppiness in our Public Service, all of those vices are going to fasttrack the break up of Nigeria.

Above all, I want good and competent Public Servants like Lot Egopija to know they are appreciated and to never quit making their good better and their better best.
