I will be a frontliner of developments in Osun – Adeleke vows as he becomes the Asiwaju of Ede land .

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has vowed to be a frontliner of peace and development of the Ede land and Osun State as a whole.

Speaking at the occasion of his installation as the Asiwaju of Ede land at the palace of Timi of Ede on Sunday, Adeleke said he is ready to carry the light of positive transformation from place to place in the state.
“I will carry the light of positive transformation from towns to villages and from cities to rural areas across our dear state,” he said.

His words: “To all Asiwaju title holders of various towns in Osun State, I welcome myself into your midst.

‘On a lighter mood, I believe you are eager to receive me not just as the Asiwaju of Ede land, but as the Asiwaju Of Osun State.

“Dear friends and associates, your presence today strengthens my resolve to further devote myself to the service of my people.

“You will continue to find in me a true peoples’ servant, a good listener and an agent of good governance.

“As I assumed this new role, I seek the cooperation, prayers and support of all and sundry for our dedication to take Osun to a greater height.

“I enjoin my friends both home and abroad, to join us as we Intensely deliver dividends of democracy.”

Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu, Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makimde (Oyo), stormed the ancient town of Ede, in  Ede local government area of Osun State to grace the installation of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the Asiwaju of Ede land.

Other dignitaries present were former president Olusegun Obasanjo; former governor of Oyo State, Rasheed Ladoja; and former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinola, among other political heavy weights across the country.

The occasion was also an avenue to lunch the new palace building of Timi of Ede, His Royal Majesty Munirudeen Lawal.

Earlier, the chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, explained the decision of conferring the Asiwaju title on governor  Ademola Adeleke.

He said it was in acknowledgement and recognition of his contribution to the growth and development of Ede and Osun State at large.
“What informed the decision to confer on Governor Adeleke the Asiwaju of Ede title, is in the acknowledgement and recognition of his contribution to the growth and development of Ede land and Osun State at large,” Oyewumi stated during a press conference at the Timi of Ede’s palace on Sunday.

Oyewumi further revealed that the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, also took into consideration the immense contributions of the entire Adeleke dynasty to the growth and development of Ede, Osun State, and Nigeria as a whole. “It is just to show appreciation, not only to the governor, but to the entire Adeleke dynasty,” he added.
