Kebbi CP SEEKS FOR CONTINUOUS COLLABORATION WITH NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS IN KEBBI STATE

The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani and his Management Team had received the Kebbi State Coordinator, National Human Rights Commissioner, Hamza A. Wala, Esq for a courtesy visit in his Office, at the State Headquarters, Gwadangaji, Birnin Kebbi.
In his opening remarks, the State Coordinator informed the CP that, “it has been a tradition by the International Community to commemorate the 16 Days of activism on violence against Women and Girls every year, and this year’s event has commenced from 25th November, 2024 to 10th December, 2024 with the theme: ” ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE.”
Barr. Wala reiterated, that the Kebbi State Office of the Commission decided to pay an advocacy visit to the Commissioner of Police and to seek for his support and cooperation in ending and raising awareness on violence against women and girls.
While responding, CP Bello M. Sani thanked the State Coordinator for the visit and seeked for the Commission’s continued collaboration in investigating and prosecuting cases of violence against women and girls to a logical conclusion in the State.
The CP further advised the State Coordinator to sensitize and encourage the victims of violence against Women and Girls to continue with their cases, notwithstanding the intervention of any person, with a view to brought the perpetrators to book and deter the would to be offenders.
