The Second Graduation / Walimat ul Qurian ceremony of Madrasatu Ar-Rasheediyatu Al- Islamiyatu Education Center Erijiyan Ekiti has been held amidst pomp and pageantry.

The epoch-making event was held at the School’s premises, along Ikogosi Road, Erijiyan-Ekiti in EkaMeta LCDA of Ekiti State on Sunday, 18th of February 2024.

Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Hon. Adekunle Saliu Oloruntegbe who described the Centre as that which would curb youth restiveness and fast-track meaningful development in the community.

While noting that education remains one of the best legacies parents could bequeath to their children, he enjoined parents to endeavour to send their children to school for knowledge acquisition, saying an idle hand is a devil’s workshop.

According to him; “Findings revealed, that children who remain idle are those who indulge in all kinds of immoral acts and eventually bad gangs and later constitute nuisance in the public.

” With this Islamic Education edifice in this area, youth restiveness would be reduced as education remains that torchlight that would anyone through the dark tunnel called life. Besides this, it is the bedrock that engender meaningful development in any society.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Proprietor of the center who doubles as Chief Imam of Erijiyan-Ekiti, Sheikh Engr. AbdulRasheed Bakare said the Islamic center is the first of its kind in the area and promised to keep improving the standard to compete favourably with those in the urban centers .

According to him, the management decided to have a joint graduation ceremony this year for the first and second graduands of the Islamic School.

The Guest Lecturer, Alhaji Amusa Lawal, who is the Chief Imam of Ajumosenire Central Mosque, Ladipo Lagos, thanked the Almighty Allah over the initiative and brilliant efforts of Chief Imam of Erijiyan Ekiti towards the establishment of the Islamic Education Center.

While showering encomiums on Imam Bakare for sustaining the legacy of his late father, late Sheikh Abubar Sidiq, he
stressed the importance of education in family upbringing and praised Imam Bakare for bringing the Islam edifice to Ekameta area Council.

In his own remark, an Associate Professor of Islamic studies at Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Ikere Ekiti, Dr. A R Aminullahi, described Islamic education as best legacy without which the entire life becomes meaningless.

He, however, encouraged parents to always strive to invest their children’s academics which would guarantee them a future filled with hope.

On his own, a Canadian based Business mogul, Mr. Adeniran Akinola who is a childhood friend of the Proprietor, in a message to the management, promised to supply modern educational equipment to further improve the standard of the school.

He described the initiative as that which is worthy of emulation and admonished parents to make better and judicious use of the facility.

Remarking, Alhaji Rafiu Adisa Ebiti, Deputy National President, Muslim Ummah of South Western Nigeria (MUSWEN), who was represented represented by the Chairman Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Ekiti State, Alhaji Dr. H A Bakare, applauded the Chief Imam of Erijiyan Ekiti for his pragmatic efforts ag moving the religion of Allah forward in Erijiyan Ekiti and pray that Almighty Allah gives him strength to continue to sustain the center.

Also Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Akeem Jamiu, former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State Houses of Assembly, praised the Proprietor, Head Teacher of the school, Mallam Dawood Sulaimon and the Director, Mallam Salahudeen Azeez for their wonderful efforts towards sustaining the citadel of learning.

Chairman Ekameta LCDA, Hon Dr Leye Adeniji, commended the proprietor (Chief Imam of Erijiyan Ekiti) for his hardwork, commitment and dedication to academic development, describing him as an impetus of development in Erijiyan, Ikogosi, Ipole Iloro communities and environs.

The recitation of the Holy Quran was coordinated by all the Chief Imams in Ekiti West local Government, led by (Sheikh Abdur Raheem Bamigbola) the Grand Imam of Ekiti West and also the Chief imam of Aramoko Ekiti, and many other important Islamic Clerics.

Some important personalities were honoured with special Awards at the occasion amongst who are; the Canadian based Businessman, Adeniran Akinola, High Chief Jide Awe, a supporter of the Islamic center right from inception, though a Christian.

Alhaji Lateef Makanjuola received an award of Patriotism, Dr. Bunmi Adeniji received an award of patriotism, while Alhaji Saliu Adekunle Oloruntegbe was honoured with the award of Islamic supporter of the year.

At the end, Alh. Ganiyu Omoniyi Bello, the Otun Adinni of Erijiyan Ekiti, thanked everyone that graced the occasion and prayed that Almighty Allah would bless them and their families.

The well-attended epochal occasion was graced by many dignitaries amongst who are; His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Oludare Omosebi Adegoroye. Agunsoye Il The Olohan of Erijiyan Ekiti, former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Akeem Jamiu and President, Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Ekiti State, Dr. H.A. Bakare, Alhaji.

Others include; Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Adekunle saliu Oloruntegbe, Chairman, Ekameta LCDA, Hon. Dr. Leye Adeniji, members of the Tijaniyyah group, led by Khalifatul khulafahu, Dr. Sheikh Maruf Ceesee Olore Tijani, Ekiti state Amirah of Tijaniyya, Alhaja Khadijat and many others.
