Nigerians Urge to Embrace healthy lifestyles.
Nigerians have been urged to embrace healthy life styles to improve their physical health towards attaining centenary age.
A Clinical Psychologist, Dr Adedotun S. Ajiboye gave the advice while delivering a talk, titled ” Your Health and Wellbeing” at a Webinar, held on Sunday.
He said study has revealed that expectancy ratio for men is 45years while that of Women is 47 adding that it is through a healthy life style that we can surpass and live longer.
Ajiboye , who is also a Psycho-Social Development and Health Expert disclosed that those who attain Centenary age indicated that they had a healthy life style at their younger ages.
Dr. Ajiboye charged participants at the webinar to look at their health holistically, explaining that wellbeing are in different categories like the financial failing exams, bad marriage, social interaction among others.
According to him, people should take physical health as the most paramount which he noted is through nutrition to maintain good health and ensure that they do preventive care, do regular checkup, majorly the blood sugar and blood pressure test to maintain healthy life.
He mentioned the importance of water therapy every morning, limiting processed foods like the can foods and engaging the services of a dieticians for a balance diet.
While saying that people should be weary of financial wellness, Ajiboye said people should be less concerned with salary and try to diversify ways to reduce their financial spendings.
He stated other types of wellness to include; Physical wellness, emotional wellness, Intellectual wellness, social wellness, spiritual wellness, occupational wellness and environmental wellness .
Speaking further, Ajiboye charged people to sit and ruminate on their life styles, pay attention to their health, having good diet, maintaining their joy or getting it back as the case maybe, sleeping well, and settling quarrels before sleeping.
Added to these, were ability to give a summary of oneself, engaging in exercises, moving out from your comfort zone and practicing a work balance strategies.
He applauded the organisers of the webinar, noting that their webinar coincided with the Global wellness day which was celebrated on Saturday June 8, 2024.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the President of Heritage crew ’91, Mr Falade Ademola said the sensitization is for everybody, calling on participants to take advantage of it and replicate same in all their different places.
The moderator of the programme , Martin Mary Falana who is the Chief Executive Officer of Kids & Teens Resources centre said Heritage Crew ’91 is a group of students who finished from Annunciation School and St Louis Grammar School Ikere-Ekiti in 1991.
“These like mind students came together to advance their physical and social wellbeing as well as giving back to their Alma mater.”
The group, he stated, has embarked on numerous projects in the two schools, ranging from annual extra lessons in English Language and Mathematics for the SS3 students in preparation for the Senior Secondary School Examinations among many others.

Also, annual Heritage Trophy and cash prize for overall Inter-house Sports winner among other developmental initiative.
