Police parades 11 Suspected criminals in Osun. By John Dike

Osun State police Command has paraded 11 suspected criminals arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, stealing , Car theft amongst others .

Parading the suspects before newsmen at the police headquarters in osogbo, Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Longe said the suspects were apprehended in various locations across the State .

Longe explained that On 9th July, 2023 at about 0930hrs, upon information received that, armed robbery gang suspected to be terrorizing motorists along Aba-Ede junction of Osu/Ile-Ife Highway in the night, were engaged by the policemen from Osu Division and during the process, one of the suspects Obinna Chibuzo from Abia State was arrested with two bags containing one locally made double barrel pistol, one English pistol, one phone, some cloths and foot wears, while remaining gang members escaped into the bush with bullet wounds.

He stated that during investigation process carried out by Anti-Kidnapping Squad, police , other members of the armed robbery syndicate were arrested at their various hideouts.

According to the Commissioner of Police, all the suspects confessed to be masterminding armed robbery incidents in the area and efforts are still been intensified to arrest other suspects at large.

Also On the 11th May, 2023 at about 1930hrs, the complainant reported that, he was attacked by a three man gang fully armed with guns and other dangerous weapons at his residence.

He disclosed that the hoodlums ambushed the victim in his resident and dispossessed him of his valuables such as Phones, Jewelries and two Cars, a Toyota Camry car of 2009 and 2010 model valued at (N12,465,700), the suspects also carted away other personal documents.

However ,upon intelligence gathering led the detectives of the Anti-kidnapping squad of this command to Ilorin where the duo of the receivers; Abdulwasiu Jato and Kolawole Iwalaye were arrested on while in possession of the said Toyota Muzzle Camry 2009 model property of the complainant and another Toyota Corolla 2012 model which is also stolen vehicle.

It was also learnt that further investigations revealed that, the original Chassis Number of the Toyota Camry car which has been changed by the suspects

The original owner of the recovered Toyota Corolla is yet unknown.
Efforts are still ongoing to arrest the perpetrators and recover other stolen properties

On the 28th June, 2023 at about 1330hrs, the complainant reported at Ikire Division that, he met one Victory Ahiante on social media and started chatting, then he was invited to come to Osun State from Lagos State by his friend, Victory

According the Commissioner, when victim came to Ikire, Victory lured him to her boy friend’s house where he met some unscrupulous elements who attacked him and collected his phone which they used to transfer the sum of N1.5m from his account. Immediately the case was reported, police detectives swung into action and arrested one Ariyo Ayobami from his hideout.

Upon Preliminary investigation led to the arrest of two persons while efforts are ongoing to arrest other culprits,

All suspects according to CP will be charged to court after the completion of investigation
