Sanwo-Olu debunks rift with Tinubu, says it’s a father-and-son relationship

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has dismissed rumours suggesting there is any rift between him and President Bola Tinubu.

Last week, speculations spread online about a possible strain in their relationship after the President appeared to have snubbed Sanwo-Olu during the inauguration of Phase 1 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in Lagos on Saturday, May 31.
In a video shared by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, President Tinubu was seen entering the venue as dignitaries rose to welcome him.
He proceeded to exchange handshakes with Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum; Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri; Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu; and others, but seemed to bypass Sanwo-Olu, who was visibly waiting to greet him.

However, the governor and members of the Governors Advisory Council of the APC in Lagos State visited the President yesterday.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Sanwo-Olu dismissed the speculated rift, describing his relationship with the President as that of a father and son.
