Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, who presided over the session, commended Senator Kaka and his committee for their diligent work in ensuring the bill’s successful passage.

This landmark development comes on the heels of the Senate’s previous approvals for the establishment of development commissions in the North West, North Central, and South East regions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring holistic development across the nation.

Additionally, the Senate confirmed the appointment of Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan as a Commissioner in the National Population Commission (NPC), representing Ondo State. This decision was made following the committee’s recommendation and subsequent approval through a voice vote led by Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin.

Mrs. Iyantan’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective and expertise to the NPC, as she joins fellow commissioners and the Chairman in steering the commission toward achieving its goals.
