Take our anthem serious, Sheikh Yunus Anola urges Nigerians
… Preaches unity, religious harmony
The Chief Imam of the Ondo State Government House in Akure, Sheikh Yunus Anola, has called on Nigerians to take every verse of the new Nigerian national anthem seriously in all our daily activities.
In his sermon today, the Cleric charged Muslims to be good citizens.
He condemned profiteering, saying Muslims should not engage in any act that can bring hardship to fellow human beings.
He emphasized that though tribes and tongues may differ, in brotherhood we stand.
Anola mentioned that Allah is showing something with this year’s Eid.
“Look at the other side of the Mosque, you will see our Christian brothers and sisters in the Chapel, and here we are inside the Mosque; this is the way it is practiced in Jerusalem.
“This is called religious harmony, and that is what Allah wants from us all. Our flag shall be our symbol of unity.
“We must, as a matter of fact, be united in love and peace.”
The cleric called on us all to study the new national anthem because it is full of lessons and serves as our national prayer.
He urged all citizens to try their hands at farming, however little, to reduce the effects of hunger and hardship, which are not peculiar to Nigeria alone at the moment.
The Government House Imam prayed for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and thanked him for showing love to the Muslim faithful.
He prayed for a peaceful governorship election coming in November this year.
