Joy, music and heartfelt tributes filled the air as friends, family members and associates gathered in Akure, Ondo State capital, to celebrate Mrs Busola Ogunmefun, who marked her golden jubilee in a grand and colourful ceremony.
The colourful event took place at De La Salle Hall, St Peterās Secondary School, Akure, Ondo State, on Friday, March 7, 2026.

Elegantly dressed in an artistic outfit, the celebrant was ushered into the hall by her well-wishers amid dancing and joyous applause as melodious songs filled the air.
Chairman of the occasion, Pastor Ezekiel Kolawole, described the celebration as the Lordās doing.
He extolled the virtues of the celebrant, portraying her as an energetic and hardworking woman whose life has positively impacted many people.
In her congratulatory message, the Director of Accounts at the Public Service Training Institute (PSTI), Princess Olubunmi Adeyanju, described Mrs Ogunmefun as a respectful, humble and exceptional woman.
āThe celebrant is a nice and trustworthy woman of integrity. I hardly know the exact words to describe her. She is very respectful, humble and exceptional,ā she said.
āI pray that the Lord will take her to greater heights. She is my friend, my sibling and a confidant.
She is someone you can always rely on,ā Adeyanju added.
A colleague of the celebrant, Mr Duebor Dennis, also praised her personality, noting that she is passionate about people around her.
According to him, her life reflects mutual respect and dedication to service, describing her as a symbol of an ideal woman.
Speaking with journalists after the ceremony, one of the celebrantās relatives, the Iya Adinni of Akure Kingdom and Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor, Alhaja Fausat Ifedayo Gidado, urged her to remain steadfast in her good deeds.

Reflecting on the ongoing Lent observed by Christians and the Ramadan fast by Muslims, Gidado called on Nigerians to draw closer to God and shun sin and all forms of evil.
āThose who fight in the name of religion are ignorant because both the Holy Bible and the Holy Qurāan preach peace and are against violence.
“We must continue to preach and practise love among ourselves,ā she said.
In her remarks, the celebrant expressed gratitude to God for His grace and faithfulness throughout her life.

āI thank God because it is not by my power or strength. I will continue to uphold all the good things my well-wishers have said about me.
” I have faced many challenges in life, but God has always been there for me,ā she said.
She also appreciated the Church of God, her colleagues at work, family members and all guests who came to celebrate with her.
Mrs Ogunmefun further described Alhaji Gidado as a loving and highly accommodating in-law.
The highlight of the event included the cutting of the birthday cake, presentation of gifts and entertainment of guests, while Prophetess Olorunmodupe Taiwo offered prophetic prayers and blessings for the celebrant.
