Two feared Dead As “Yahoo Boy” Hits Four in Akure

Tragedy struck in Akure on Sunday as a private vehicle hit four persons on a long Alagbaka road killing two instantly.

The incident, which occurred in front of a popular supermarket, involved a Lexus car, two other vehicles and a motorcycle.

Eyewitness stated that the driver of the Lexus car was over speeding as he was coming from Oba Adesida axis of the road and later hit the motorcycle from behind killing the rider and the passenger instantly.

According to the witness, the Driver suspected to be a ‘Yahoo Boy’ also ram into jeep packed on the roadside, injuring a woman waiting for her husband that went to buy items at the supermarket.

He said, “The guy who drove the car is underage and looks like those Yahoo guys.

“He was coming from Oja Oba side and was on very highspeed before hitting the okada man from behind killing them instantly.

He also hit a lady and broke her legs and a woman who was waiting for her husband that crossed to the other side to buy something at the supermarket. In fact, God saved her two kids, he would have killed them all.

When our reporter visited the scene of the incident, the injured woman was still lying down at the entrance of the vehicle while those gathered are trying to rescue others that were later rushed to hospital for treatment.
