The Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun has commended the Osun State Police Commissioner, Kehinde Longe for his prompt action against the bad eggs in Police Force

He noted that his swift action that led to the arrests of policemen caught in act of extortion show a clear indication that the Force will not tolerate bad elements from destroying its image.

He made this known today while receiving the victims, Muhammed Ojebode and Olanrewaju Olamilekan in his office alongside some other lawmakers before going with them to meet the Commissioner of Police at the State’s Headquarters for their statements.

You will recall that yesterday evening some police personnel were reprimanded by the Speaker in the Ido-Osun area of the State for extorting commuters.

The Speaker after questioning both of them, saluted their courage for flagging his vehicle down in the face of the threat.

He admonished them to continue to be law-abiding and learn from what is happening because it may only take time but the the law will always catch up with criminals in our society one day.

He then used the opportunity to commend the Osun Police Commissioner for the swift action taken on the matter, noting that the quick intervention of the Mr. Longe signals good leadership from the police authority.

In his word “I’m aware that those officers are kept behind bars since last night. I commend the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Longe for his swift response. That shows he is a noble man and a good leader.”

He then asked the victims to go with his colleagues to the Police Headquarters to give their own side of the incident to help the police authority in their investigation.
