Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, the son of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has made an appeal to President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, not to reduce Bauchi youths to beggars on his tour to the state by giving them handouts and rice inside takeaway packs. Shamsuddeen, in a Facebook post on Monday, urged the President’s son to provide Bauchi youths with employment opportunities, resources to start businesses, and training in crypto trading, among other forms of empowerment, rather than temporary handouts. The governor’s son’s remarks come at a time when Seyi Tinubu is touring northern states to support youths and vulnerable people as Muslims observe the Ramadan fast. On Friday, the President’s son was in Yobe State to engage with the youth. But in his post on Monday, the Bauchi governor’s son called on the President’s son to empower the youths rather than giving them handouts. Shamsuddeen stated, “Please when coming to Bauchi for the #RHYE, empower our youths with employment, Keke NAPEP, money to start a business, ICT infrastructure and training for crypto trading and so on. “Please, we, the youths of Bauchi, don’t need rice and food in nylon bags during Ramadan. Teach our youths how to fish, rather than feed them for one day. They are not beggars.”
