An engineer turned politician, Erelu Kemi Elebute-Halle made history after becoming the first female. governorship candidate in Ekiti’s male-dominated politics. Her emergence, of course, has heightened hopes and possibilities of having a woman as a governor in Nigeria, if not now but in the nearest future.

Right from the time the State was carved out from old Ondo State by late Military head of State Gen. Sani Abacha’s government.

WHO IS ERELU KEMI ELEBUTE-HALLE
Born on the 11th of June 1982 in Ikole, Ekiti State; had her Primary and Secondary Education in the state as well. She went to Federal Polytechnics, Ado Ekiti to study Civil Engineering and later proceeded to the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State.
She contested for Ekiti State governorship seat on the platform of the Action Democratic Party, ADP. She was consistent all the way and very visible, holding her own and fighting her way into reckoning in the male-dominated contest.

She is a Philanthropist and humanist who has touched many lives within and outside Ekiti State. She has offered many poor students Scholarship from Secondary School to University level.
Yearly she gives empowerment to less privilege women both in Ekiti and her base in Abuja irrespective of tribe.
Erelu KEMI Elebute -Halle (Iya Ibeji) is a recipient of many Awards and Honour, She holds many traditional titles.
