
The Labour Party, LP, Ward Chairmen Forum Of Bayelsa State, said they are not part of the purported suspension of the State Chairman of the Party,Hon Eneye Zidougha and other executive members of the party by the State Local Government Chairmen.

Speaking on behalf of the 105 ward chairmen in Bayelsa state,while briefing the press in Yenagoa,on Monday 4th November 2023, the Chairman of All Ward Chairmen,Mr Preye Apelebiri, described the suspension of the State Chairman Hon. Eneye Zidougha as illegal and will not stand.
Apelebiri, who’s also the Chairman of Ward 11, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, said that the ward chairmen stand in solidarity with the state chairman to uphold the constitution of the party which states that the tenure of the current party executives will expire next year 2024.
The astute politician said that “We the ward chairmen were deceived by some LGA chairmen of the party into signing a document aimed at suspending the current state chairman, and his executives, and this was done without our consent.

“We the ward chairmen across the state stand to condemned in totality the illegal suspension of the current Working State Committee, and subsequent kangaroo election of an acting State Working Committee of the Party.” He noted.
According to Apelebiri,the ward chairmen and the candidate of the party in the just concluded governorship election in the state, Engr Udengs Eradiri had a gentleman agreement to pay the sum of #200,000 after the election but the agreement was never fufiled by the candidate, henced calling on the party to pay the money.
He further called on the state working committee to always carry the ward chairmen along in their activities so as to promote peace and unity in the party.
