Ahoada East LGA Chairman, Debunks Claims By Nigerian Army. By Chris Mark

The Executive Chairman, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Barr Ben Eke, has debunked reports by 6 Division of the Nigerian Army that suspected militants that killed four soldiers, two civilians, a civilian driver and kidnapped two Daewoo expatriates are from Communities in Ahoada East.

The Executive Chairman, made this known through a press release, On Wednesday 13th December, after it’s attention was drawn to a press release credited to the 6 division of the Nigerian Army, that the killings and kidnappings took place in communities in Ahoada East LGA.

Eke, who condemned the dastardly act, said the areas quoted by the said press statement are neither close nor part of Ahoada East Local Government Area. However noted that all are Communities are in Abua/Odual Local Government Area.

The Ahoada East LGA boss, posited that Ahoada East LGA is peaceful now, hence, the ongoing annual football competition in the area.

exhibit professionalism in checking for facts before publishing stories, especially, when it has to do with human lives.

 

It would be recalled, that the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army through a press release issued by his Public Relation Officer (PRO) on Tuesday 12th December, said at about 12pm, escort duty for Daewoo maint team to Enweh West manifold Ahoada East LGA Rivers State, were ambushed by suspected militants at Emesu junction, along Aminigboko – Emughan road, were 4 soldiers, 2 civilians,a civilian driver were killed, 2 Korean national kidnapped and 4 AK 47 rifles were carted away.
