
The role of Traditional Rulers in ensuring sustainable peace cannot be easily overemphasized and as must be respected ,included in scheme of thing especially as it borders in safety of lives and property of the people

To this end ,Community policing must be encouraged and police must partner with host communities in fighting crime in the land .

Assistant Inspector General of Police in AIG Zone 11 Command, comprising Osun and Oyo States AIG S. K. Akande stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi in his palace at IFe in Osun State
He promised Nigerians that he will join forces with the Commissioners of Police and other Tactical Commanders in Oyo and Osun States to provide adequate security for life and property with all what he has at his disposal so that the people can sleep with their two eyes closed.
Akande hinted that monarchs who are custodian of Culture and Tradition of the people must be carried alone if indeed the effort relevant security quest to curb crime and criminality would yield a desirable result .

The AIG informed the Monarch and His Traditional Chiefs that he is at the palace to pay homage to his imperial majesty and to receive the royal blessing that a worthy Oduduwa son deserved.
He commended the Monarch for his numerous support to the police and and other relevant security operative working in the state and enjoined him to sustain the gesture .
Welcoming the AIG and his entourage to the palace,Oba Ogunwusi promised to always support the Police, and prayed for the AIG to succeed in all his endeavors.
Similarly the AIG had a security assessment visit to Ife-Ilesa Express Road and Ayegbaju-Iwara-Igangan roads to access the security of the area
