Trader jailed 2 years for stealing lace fabric
A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced 26-year-old trader, Umar Ibrahim, to two years imprisonment for stealing lace fabric his neighbour’s house..
The Magistrate, Mrs Irene Pati, sentenced Ibrahim, following a guilty plea to theft.
Pati gave the convict an option of N200,000 fine and also ordered him to pay N70,000 as compensation to the complainant.

Earlier while reviewing the facts, the prosecutor, Insp Ijuptil Thiawur told the court that the complainant, Naimu Idris reported the case on March 24, at the “C” Division Police station.
Thiawur said the convict went into his neighbour’s house and stole fabric and wrapper worth N50,000 .
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Plateau Penal Code Law.
