Bayelsa Assembly Race: Ndubadein Faults Move to Bar Ward 12 from Contest.

Aspirant for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Yenagoa Constituency 3, Hon. Amaoru Ndubaein, has debunked claims that Ward 12 in Biseni Clan, Yenagoa Local Government Area, is ineligible to contest the seat because the ward has allegedly occupied it for 12 years.
Hon. Ndubaden dismissed the claim while speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa on Saturday, shortly after submitting his credentials for screening ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, Ward 12 is constitutionally entitled to contest the Constituency 3 seat, stressing that previous representatives from Biseni, Hon. David Obuma and Hon. Frank Otele, emerged strictly on merit after an open contest involving all wards in the constituency, and not through zoning.
“I don’t see any reason why someone from Ward 12 should not contest,” Ndubadein said. “Zoning only began with the current lawmaker representing Constituency 3, Hon. Ted Elemeforo, who hails from Okordia. By that arrangement, it is now the turn of Biseni.”
The Biseni-born politician argued that it was Biseni’s turn to produce the next lawmaker, noting that other wards in the constituency already occupy key political positions.
“Let me make this very clear. Ward 13, our sister ward, is overloaded with political offices. We have Hon. Gloria Izonfuo, a Federal Commissioner, from Ward 13. We have Godwin Worukumo, a House of Assembly Service Commissioner, from Ward 13. The Governor’s Representative, Zuwa Konugah, is also from Ward 13,” he said.
“The biggest one is that the Executive Chairman of Yenagoa LGA is from Ward 13. If the Assembly seat is zoned to Biseni, it is still not balanced because the position of Executive Chairman is bigger than three House of Assembly seats. But we will manage it. Ward 12 is ready to take this seat,” Ndubaden added.
He said his aspiration was driven by a desire to provide quality representation, perform oversight functions, and sponsor bills that would address cultism, which he said had “ravaged the area and affected the good people of Biseni.”
“I also have a strong interest in promoting primary education because it is the foundation of learning. I will equally sponsor bills concerning our roads. The road to Biseni is in a deplorable state. If you have been to that area, you will understand what I am talking about. A Biseni man should not have to pass through Rivers State to get home,” he stated.
