BOBA holds first quarter 2026 NEC meeting in Kaduna

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA) on Saturday, February 7, 2026, held its first quarterly meeting for the year at the National Secretariat, Barewa House, Kaduna.

The meeting, which commenced at 10am, was convened under the authority of the National President, Gen. Alwali J. Kazir (Rtd), CFR, according to a statement signed by the Secretary General of the association, Prof. Nasirdeen Usman, mni, FCArb.

Key issues deliberated upon at the meeting included opening prayer, welcome remarks byh the National President, reading and correction of the minutes of the last meeting, as well as matters arising from the minutes.

The council also considered reports from various sub-committees, followed up on the redemption of pledges made during the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), and deliberated on the development of BOBA’s five-year strategic plan for the period 2026–2031.

Other matters discussed were the consideration and adoption of the association’s calendar of events for the year 2026, any other business, adjournment, and closing.

After the meeting at the BOBA House, the old boys paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Zazzau at his palace in Zaria, where they exchanged pleasantries and discussed issues of mutual interest.

They also highlighted the rich legacy of Barewa College in producing eminent personalities who have contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria in their various fields.

Meanwhile, Chairmen of the sub-committees set up during the last NEC meeting were urged to submit their reports for further consideration by the council.
