I think Donald Trump should quit now

I stand with Kamala Harris

I love it when history is being made, especially when the seemingly impossible is being made possible.

I once said I stood with Trump. Yes, but my reasons were personal, based on my religion and African upbringing. My religion and personal dislike for same-sex marriage, and my African upbringing that emphasised parental discipline, are actually my issues with the Democrats.

Considering the status of the Democratic candidates and her character, I think Kamala Harris stands head and shoulders above the rest.

After writing that article, I returned to do more research on Donald Trump and found that his atrocities alone overshadow all the moral deficiencies in the Democrats.

First, I want to commend the maturity, patriotism, and spirit of sportsmanship of President Joe Biden. I hope his elder counterparts in Africa, like Paul Biya, see a lesson and reasons to resign from Biden’s actions.

Donald Trump, after losing many criminal charges against him in court, should honourably quit the race and leave the stage for a morally vibrant candidate.

The United States of America deserves a better President, a president who is racially unbiased, a president who would see all Americans; Black, White, Latino, and Indigenous as one big American family, not a sectional president.

I wish all Americans would reflect on the era of Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter, a time when more immigrants were welcomed as Americans, and Africans were seen as friends and brothers. I remember Bill Clinton’s visit to Nigeria towards the end of his administration on the 27th of August, 2000. The American president was then revered by all as a world leader, not a racist.

Kamala Harris, a loyal compatriot, I believe, would definitely defeat the fascists in the upcoming election.

Kamala Harris’s ticket is another history-making opportunity for the United States of America. America is going to have a female president for the first time in its democracy of over 200 years. Secondly, America is going to have a female president of Asian/African origin—Tamil Indian American and Jamaican American (Jamaicans are of African descent). With many American celebrities and top political figures supporting Harris, I think America is about to live up to its real name: the United States of America.

WHO IS KAMALA HARRIS IN POLITICS?

Kamala Harris has served as the U.S. Vice President since January 2021 and is the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee. A lawyer by profession, Harris rose through the California legal system and became the state’s Attorney General in 2010.

She became only the second African American woman and the first South Asian American to win a seat in the U.S. Senate, where she served for four years, beginning in January 2017.

Harris resigned just before assuming the vice presidency in Joe Biden’s administration. She is the first woman, the first Black person, and the first Asian American to serve in the role.

After Biden withdrew from the re-election bid in late July 2024, Harris became the clear frontrunner and secured the Democratic nomination roughly two weeks later.
