He made the call while officially opening the Nigerian Exhibition Pavilion at the ongoing Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, United States.

Speaking under the theme “Africa’s Energy Renaissance: Leveraging Innovation and Natural Gas for Sustainable Development,” Senator Lokpobiri emphasized that the path to sustainable energy growth in Africa lies in unity and shared vision.

Africa can effectively address her energy deficiencies by working in unison,” he stated, adding that a united front would attract greater investments and drive innovation across the continent’s energy sector.

He commended the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) for its unwavering commitment to showcasing Nigeria’s energy potential on the global stage through its consistent participation at the OTC. Lokpobiri urged other Nigerian firms and African counterparts to align with PETAN’s vision by actively participating in future editions of the conference.

“This collective support will further strengthen the African platform for sustainable energy growth,” he noted.

The Minister also extended his appreciation to the Nigerian delegation and representatives from other African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO) member countries, with special mention of Ghana, for their strong presence at the Nigerian Pavilion.

“With the vision and leadership of APPO, we are certainly on track to addressing Africa’s energy challenges in a collaborative and impactful manner,” Lokpobiri affirmed.

The OTC, held annually in Houston, remains one of the world’s foremost events for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. Nigeria’s participation continues to position the country as a strategic player in the global energy landscape.
