The re-election of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has continued to attract goodwill from traditional rulers, as the Onifiye Adimula of Idado-Ijesa Kingdom, Oba Kehinde Adebowale Taiwo Orilobamise Jowele-Loriooko II, hailed the victory as a reflection of the governor’s acceptance by the people.

The monarch described the Governor’s victory in the recent governorship election as a clear testament to his widespread acceptance, popularity and the confidence reposed in his leadership by the people of Osun State.

According to him, the outcome of the election is not only a recognition of the Governor’s achievements and commitment to the development of the state but also a renewed mandate and greater responsibility to serve the people with humility, fairness and dedication.

The Onifiye Adimula therefore urged Governor Adeleke and his supporters to remain gracious in victory, extending a hand of fellowship to all stakeholders, irrespective of their political affiliations.

He advised the Governor to continue to discharge his official responsibilities with impartiality, wisdom, humility and the fear of God.

The monarch further urged the Governor to make the holistic development of all communities across Osun State a major priority during his second term, particularly by addressing the developmental gap between urban and rural areas.

He called for deliberate and sustained efforts to extend critical infrastructure, social amenities and other government interventions to underserved rural communities, stressing that the benefits of democracy should be felt by every citizen, regardless of location or social status.

The traditional ruler also emphasised the importance of carrying traditional institutions along in the governance and development process.

He noted that traditional rulers remain critical stakeholders and custodians of the people’s culture, history and grassroots interests, and should therefore be adequately consulted and involved in matters affecting their communities.

Above all, the Onifiye Adimula encouraged Governor Adeleke to embrace all citizens of Osun State as one united family, regardless of political affiliations, and to use his second tenure to foster peace, unity, inclusiveness and sustainable development across the state.

He commended the Governor for the confidence and goodwill demonstrated by the people through the ballot and prayed that Almighty God would grant him greater wisdom, sound health, strength and divine guidance to successfully navigate the responsibilities of his renewed mandate.

The monarch further prayed for God’s continued protection over Governor Adeleke, his family, his administration and the people of Osun State, while asking God to bless the Governor with the courage and discernment to make decisions that would bring lasting prosperity, peace and progress to the state.

He expressed confidence that, with humility, dedication, inclusive governance and the fear of God, Governor Adeleke would leave behind an enduring legacy of development and good governance and take Osun State to greater heights during his second term.
