However, this did not directly lead to the rising cost of living, which is increasing daily, and the government is not acting appropriately to reduce such expenses. These issues should be addressed at the societal level.
Ensuring that production principles are well-managed and that agricultural practices are profitable is crucial. Commercial farmers must take the lead to ensure food supply to the general public and work out effective plans.
Empowering fish farmers in terms of production and transportation
There are several gaps in the fish transportation systems, making it difficult to move fish products from one location to another. This is evident in the cost of production, as inputs like feeds and management aspects require careful consideration in addition to the necessary equipment.
The high cost of fish products results from this, and there is a need to ensure that special vans are designed to transport fish from farming sites to markets.
Additionally, it is essential to properly size all fishing inputs and provide extension services for various value chains and information dissemination.
These actions will bring about changes in production, management, and the creation of cool rooms for fish preservation systems, which will guarantee business opportunities for the nation’s general public.
