DIG Commends CP, Assures Bayelsians Of Better Security.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the South South Zone, DIG Sokari Pedro, has again assured the people of Bayelsa State of better improve security in the State.

The DIG, who stated this on Wednesday, during an official tour to the state, commended the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Alonyenu Francis for using technology in combating crime.
According to him, gone are those days where police depends on manual ways of combating crime, adding that with the deployment of Artificial intelligent, AI, and other security gadgets the people have cause to smile.
He further said that ” Otherwise like what you’re enjoying here today, despite the challenging terrain of Bayelsa State, cannot even enjoy in some State that does not have such challenge, so kudos to our able CP who is really putting action to his IT experience into security.”

DIG Pedro, while emphasizing on the need for the people to collaborate with the police to combat crime, called on them to see police has their friend so as to bring insecurity to the bearest minimum.
” Security is not a one man venture, is not only for the police, securing a society requires more than one man’s effort, so all members of the society are in one way or the other have to compliment the efforts of the police from the stakeholders even from the pressmen we expect so much from you.
“We are not telling you to go and carry guns, we are not telling you to go and carry bow and arrow but what we expect from you is to enlighten the public. They say the pen is mightier than the sword, why do they say so, is because technology is power, there it’s in your place to enlighten the public.” He noted.
Earlier the CP Bayelsa State Police Command, CP Alonyenu Francis, in his speech to the DIG, said that ” I welcome you formally to this command today, you’re familiar to this environment, today your law and other template and your capacity to manage other security governance systems that led majorly to the very peaceful election .
Sir without your tact, discipline and moderation the environment was volatile but with a minders touch and influence everything went smoothly, we are indebted to you sir.
He said with the technical electronic infrastructure put in place under his command, such as humming devices can be use for security governance purposes to curb security challenges in the environment.
The CP, also notes that the Douye Diri led government has encourage the command expecially in the area of dismantling road blocks which he acknowledged has been constituting nuisance to the image of the officers and men of the force.
According to the CP the resolute efforts of the men is highly commended for ensuing corruption and tempting situation, stating that the law and enforcement governance system is intolerance of corruption.
