Hon. Biewari stated this when Members of the United Correspondents Chapel, UCC, of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Ovom Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The Commissioner noted that proper administration and documentation of the land requested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) for the building of its modern office complex in the state is underway, adding that the process will soon be completed.

He emphasized the importance of NDLEA in the state as it will go a long way in encouraging men and officers of the agency in the adequate discharge of thier duties in the state, stressing that it will ultimately lead to the curbing of drug intake and abuse particularly among the youths in the state.

He hinted that his ministry is poised to partner with the media in the proper dissemination of its activities to the public.

Earlier, the Chairman of UCC, Comrade James Akam had congratulated Hon Perepuighe Biewari for his appointment as the Commissioner for Lands and Survey and equally thanked the governor Senator Douye Diri for appointing the Commissioner.

According to Akam, part of the purpose of the visit is to familiarize with the Commissioner, as well partner with the ministry so as to disseminate information and activities of the ministry as land is of paramount to the development of any society.

He said the group has carefully observed the Commissioner right from when he assumed work has performed optimally, hinting that there’s no doubt Bayelsans will benefit from its wealth of experience, while giving instance of how the Commissioner was able to resolve 10 hectars of lands given to NDLEA by the State Government.

The Chairman reiterated the groups commitment in projecting government activities through the ministry and prayed the partnership will be a symbolic one.
